Located in the famous King William Historic District, the Inn was built circa 1905 and is tastefully furnished with antiques and family heirlooms. Whether enjoying a stroll along the Riverwalk, which is just two blocks away, or soaking in one of the antique claw foot tubs, a stay at the Gardenia Inn will rejuvenate you in both body and spirit.
In addition to the large variety of restaurants and bars along the nearby Riverwalk, many excellent restaurants are located in the neighborhood surrounding the Gardenia Inn. Some of the quality restaurants within a three block walk are: Madhatters, China Latina, Tito's, Rosario's, Azuca and La Focaccia.

Owners and Innkeepers
John and Susan Elich fulfilled a twenty two year dream when they purchased the Gardenia Inn in May 2005.
After 18 years in Northern California and Arizona they returned to their home state to be closer to family and to pursue a life as Innkeepers. Both are native Texans with deep roots in the state. Susan's ancestors arrived in Texas when it was a province of Mexico and settled in South Texas in the 1850's.
Susan, a former Legal Administrator, is a full time Innkeeper, while John telecommutes as a marketing analyst and assists with the Inn. Having spent years traveling the back roads of Texas, John can offer wonderful suggestions for day trips during your visit.
